Q: Master Jordan, you are an accomplished World Champion. I, on the other hand, know nothing about this stuff. Would you and your instructors really have the patience, desire and ability to teach someone like me?
A: You should have no doubts as to the "ability" part. We absolutely have the patience and desire. This is our life and our passion. When we help you achieve your goals, you tell others and that is good business. Don't worry about your lack of skill or knowledge.
Q: How many classes per week should I attend?
A: We recommend two classes per week, plus a certain amount of practice time in between each class. This allows the student time to work on material and become proficient before new techniques are introduced.
Q: Will there be other beginners in my class?
A: At East Coast Karate Academy, all students are grouped by age and skill level. You won't feel intimidated and you will be in the comfortable setting.
Q: Will the East Coast Karate Academy program make my child overly aggressive?
A: At East Coast Karate Academy, children are taught that martial arts are not to be used in aggression, but rather to defend oneself in problematic situations. Aggressive behavior is channeled into assertiveness to increase the child's self-esteem, increase self-discipline and build character. Our program also helps the shy child to develop self-confidence and become more assertive. Parents love the positive change they see when their children attend East Coast!
Q: Will my class be safe?
A: Absolutely. All classes taught at East Coast Karate Academy are strictly monitored to ensure complete safety.
Q: What about sparring?
A: All students interested in sparring (sport karate) are required to wear the best protective equipment available and classes are strictly supervised. All equipment and supplies are available at our academy.
Q: How long will it take me to become proficient?
A: The time it takes to become proficient varies with each individual depending on the effort they put forth. At East Coast Karate Academy, students are amazed by their own ability and accomplishment in as little time as six months. This training will give you the confidence of knowing that you can defend yourself in most situations. Your real goal, however, should be to attain the rank of black belt.
Q: Can I afford your training?
A: The simple answer is yes. Our academy is very affordable. Ask yourself if you can afford not to "have something" that can save your life and prolong your life.
